I am learning to recognise patterns for numbers 1-5 instantly.

"I learnt that 3+2=5 and 4+1=5, and I learnt to do three different colours to show what equals five.  It was easy to put 3+2=5.  Mrs Wyatt and my friends help me sometimes to do Maths."

I am learning to retell what I have read.

"I know how to read, and say what happens in the beginning and the end, and the middle of the story. I am good at turning the pages.  It is hard to read really big, long words.  Mrs Wyatt helps me read the big, long words."

I am learning to write words with vowels as the middle sound.

"I was writing a Silly Sentence.  I was learning words with 'a' in the middle - fat, cat, sat, mat.  It was easy because I could hear the sounds and write the sentence. My friend and Mrs Wyatt helped me with these words."

I am learning to choose words to make my writing interesting.

"It is tricky to colour in the gaps of my picture. It is tricky to write the words that are big.  I love to sound out the words.  Mrs Wyatt and my friends sometimes help me with my writing."
